First ever Hanoi Carnival features diverse cultures

The first ever Hanoi Carnival 2012 is underway in Indochina Plaza in Cau Giay district, offering inspiring things for young Hanoians, who is thirsty for knowledge of cultures around the world, or foreigners, who want to know more about Vietnam, to explore.

Opened on August 25, the carnival features a diverse space of traditional costumes, cuisines, cultural events, photos, and gifts, all of which form rich, distinctive cultures of different countries around the world.

The organising board said they sought support and cooperation from foreign embassies and cultural centres in Vietnam for the organisation of the carnival.

A highlight of the event is a flea market with 70 booths, displaying fashionable clothes, accessories, handmade products and handicrafts from various countries.

Products from charitable centres and projects are sold to raise fund for disadvantaged people.

Traditional as well as modern games at the entertainment area are a real treat to visitors. (Source: VNA)
