The Mekong Delta (Vietnamese: đồng bằng sông Cửu Long “Nine Dragon river delta”) is the region in southwestern Vietnam where the Mekong River approaches and empties into the sea through a network of distributaries. The Mekong delta region encompasses a large portion of southeastern Vietnam of 39, 000 square kilometres (15, 000 sq mi). The size of the area covered by water depends on the season.
The Mekong Delta has recently been dubbed as a 'biological treasure trove'. Over 10, 000 new species have been discovered in previously unexplored areas of Mekong Delta, including a species of rat thought to be extinct.
Full Itinerary
Day 1: Saigon - My Tho - Ben Tre - Chau Doc (L) 
Pick up at your hotel in Saigon. Depart for My Tho. Take a boat ride through the Bao Dinh natural canal, which is lined with stilt houses and fruit plantations. Visit the My Tho wholesale fruit market. Proceed to Tortoise island and enjoy lunch served in the heart of the orchard. Enjoy a leisurely boat ride through the Tan Thach natural canal in Ben Tre, cruising under the shadows of the water coconut trees. Visit a family business which epitomizes the idyllic rural lifestyle. Trek through the fruit plantations on Thoi Son island and enjoy a rowing boat ride along the creeks before returning to My Tho by motor boat. Proceed to Chau Doc. Check in on arrival. Visit the Sam Mountain and the cave pagoda, admire the sunset over the Vietnam - Cambodia Frontier. Dinner on guest's account. Overnight at your chosen hotel in Chau Doc.
Day 2: Chau Doc - Long Xuyen - Can Tho (B/L)
Breakfast at hotel. Take the morning boat trip to visit the floating fish farm and the floating village, the Cham weaving village. Depart for Can Tho via Long Xuyen to visit the incense stick village and the Crocodile Farm. Check in on arrival. Free in the evening. Dinner cruise on the Bassac River. Overnight at your hotel in Can Tho.
Day 3: Can Tho - Cai Rang - Phong Dien - Rach Gia - Phu Quoc (B/L) 
Breakfast at hotel. Take a three-hour boat trip to visit the Cai Rang and Phong Dien floating markets. Wander through the villages, visit the rice paper mill and discover how rice noodles are made. Return to Can Tho. Depart for Rach Gia. Board the Duong Dong express boat for Phu Quoc. Pick up and transfer to your resort. Leisure time. Overnight at your chosen resort on Phu Quoc island.
Day 4: Phu Quoc (B)
Breakfast at the resort. Full day at leisure for beach activities. Lunch & dinner on guest's account. Overnight at your chosen resort on Phu Quoc island.
Day 5: Phu Quoc (B)
Breakfast at the resort. Full day at leisure for beach activities. Lunch & dinner on guest's account. Overnight at your chosen resort on Phu Quoc island..
Day 6: Phu Quoc - Saigon (B)
After breakfast, transfer to Duong Dong Airport for boarding the afternoon flight to Saigon. End of services.
