Hanoi welcomes 3.7 million visitors in six months
Hanoi City welcomed 3.7 million tourists in the first half of the year 2008, a year-on-year increase of 12%.
As many as 80% to 90% of hotels’ rooms in the city were used to serve the visitors, including 700, 000 foreign arrivals, surging 5.15% over the same period last year.
In six months the capital city also licensed and appraised hotel investment projects and started the construction of SAS Hanoi Royal Hotel.
The municipal People’s Committee plans to build high-end tourist areas and adopt mechanisms and policies for businesses and investors to execute tourism projects.
